Three Ingram Prints Earn Merits at Prestigious International Competition!
Professional Photographers of America (PPA) International Photographic Competition is held annually, with the judging occurring in mid-July. A professional photographer may enter a total of four images, and each one is judged on its own individual merit.
This year’s competition received 4,967 entries!
These images are her winners. Every detail of the image, including the title, is considered during judging.
Scoring: Each print begins with 100 points, and then deductions are made in any of 12 categories. An image that receives 80 points or more is a Merit Print; an image that receives 90 points or more is made part of the Loan Collection.
“Cool Contemplation” received a Loan Collection designation while the other two images each received the Merit Print status.
You may be asking,
“how hard is it to get a Merit print or a Loan print?”
Out of 4,967 entries, 1,812 received general Merits, and
only 471, roughly 9%, went Loan!
It’s time to break out the BLUE news! We’re excited to share our most recent IPD success story with you all…
Pam submitted 4 entries to the Triangle Photography Association’s 2012 Winter Meeting Folio Competition held January 22-23 2012 in Pittsburgh, and came away with blue ribbons on every submission!
A little background on the competition…
Triangle Photography Association is a professional association for photographers and an affiliate of Professional Photographers of America and Professional Photographers of Pennsylvania.
Part of the Winter Meeting is the Folio & Album Competition.
For the official rules, click here.
The top level of award at the folio competition is a blue ribbon; awards are based on lighting, composition, posing and variety.
Out of all the blue ribbon winners, each one of the judges then chooses a favorite as well as first, second, and third place in each of five categories (individual, group, wedding/event, digital, illustrative).

We are thrilled and honored to have earned these awards, and we are also extremely grateful to each and every one of our fantastic high school senior ‘models’ who chose to have their senior session with us in 2011. You were all so much fun to work with, and taught us more about ourselves and our craft along the way.
To our competition seniors: your folios will be displayed in our studio for the rest of this quarter, and we’ll be in touch in the following weeks to schedule a time to photograph you with your folio and pick up a little thank-you gift from our studio.
Thank you all for sharing in our excitement and success!
