Cherubs: Then and Now

As I was photographing the two little ones who are the subject of today’s post, they reminded me of  this painting by Raphael Sanzio, High Renaissance Painter, 1483 – 1520.



 

 

 

 

These are two very famous cherubs – from Raphael’s Sistine Madonna painting. The background and the simplicity of the image draw the viewer into the warmth and delight of their diminutive world.

I used this style as the inspiration for my session with the little ones below. Hope you enjoy the images!
