2011 marks the 2nd year we are supporting the Lemieux Foundation’s Project Playroom Luncheon!  This is a private event for about 300 guests to raise money for the Austin’s Playroom Project; this project is chaired by Mario Lemieux’s wife Nathalie and came about after their own experience at Magee-Women’s Hospital when their son was born prematurely.  While spending time at the hospital, they couldn’t find a comfortable area for their two daughters to play and spend time.
A quote from the Lemieux Foundation website informs us:

“Austin’s Playroom Project seeks to benefit families and improve the quality of a child’s hospital experience whether as a visitor or patient by establishing cheerful playrooms that are safe, calming and comfortable.”

The next playroom they plan to open is in the Warrior Transition Unit on the campus of Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD, scheduled to open in September 2011.
